Day4...5/10...512mi...South Lake Tahoe to LasVegas

This was definitely a day of endurance. The temperature dropped and the winds were blowing hard from the west. My destination for today was Carson City and on to see the Great Yosemite National Park. The temperature through the pass to Carson City sat in the low 30's with light snow. You can see in this photo how strong the wind was blowing.

Once in Carson City...I took a look around at the small project that I helped design...
These were taken around 8am and everything was buttoned up so Danielle (one of the owners ) opened a couple of the spaces...although the lighting was not on and it was still under construction. This will give you an idea of the kind of things we work on.
So...It was on to Yosimite and I could see the snow coming down in the hills. The wind was also blowing the snow my way even though I had blue skies above.
Looks like a change in plans...the pass was closed...great planning.

Next destination Death Valley National Park...a little wonderland along the way...
Heading to the park...
It was still only in the low 40s...I didn't need any shade but thought these were cool lookin'
Finally...
This is the valley floor...The winds were pushing the hot 96F sand and myself around...I had gone from 32F in Tahoe to 96F in the Valley...

Ok I've seen it... now get me out of here. There is no way I'm going to camp here with these winds and heat so 100 miles or so to LasVegas. I rolled in at dusk and had to ride through the city just to see the buildings and I can't believe all the people walking around on a Monday night. Beat and tired I called Ben...and hit the sack.
 Tomorrow's destination...The Grand Canyon.
