Ouch!

Headed out today today to visit my Dear Mother and noticed my rear tire was low for the second time. Pulled up to the air hose...up on the center stand...sure enough, a big screw impaled into the 2,600 mile old tire. A quick call to Ride West BMW, a short ferry ride later and she was sporting another new tire and a fresh oil change before the ride.

Wouldn't you know it...First ride... the weather was gorgeous and I put on the first 200 miles that day.

Ah...Yes!

  Well I finally did it...After 6 months or so of planning a trip, I ordered a motorcycle. I'm going to take a nice ride from Cape Flattery, Washington to Key West, Florida and back. Not only do I have a couple stops to make along the way, but the main reason I'm pumped about this ride... my beautiful daughter is going to get married on a sandy warm beach there.
  I will be riding a BMW R1200GS Adventure that I finally picked up in mid March. This bike is far beyond what I had expected. Being 6'-4" it is the perfect size for me and unbelievable on the highways. After one week of riding she was already for her 600 mile check up and installing of the panniers. I now have about 2,600 miles on her and one week until the 'Venture begins.
